Abstract

India has been accumulating an enormous “Treasure” in both Social and Cultural aspects for over 35000 years. Overwhelming knowledge had flourished as kingdoms rose and fell as time moves on. The kiln bricks, flow of water through canals, development of dwelling places, growing crops, adaptations of animals, decimal system, revenue collection, phenomenal literary growth, exceptional rise in various forms of Arts, Natural medical practices, even surgeries, are few facts for extensive knowledge practices swept across the generations and across diversified land masses. Knowledge had been shared mostly about agricultural practices and some crafts freely but some had kept in secret. Intensive knowledge about plants and properties, climatic differences with soil, fertilisation methods, insect controls, basic medical practices, basic crafts like pottery, tools, jewellery, sculpture, textiles and literature works like Vedas, Ramayana, Bharatam, etc., had been shared across India through many kingdoms. Indian Government began management education with the help of famous Harvard Business School, USA, the Indian Institute of Management in Ahmadabad in 1961, the first one. Later Tata Management Institute began in 1966 in Mumbai as education in management became dominant force in liberalisation process in since 1991.

Products and services had been produced in many verities and trading had been going on for centuries in India even the Learning and decimation of Knowledge reached at greater highest at Takshasila University, the first one of the globe near Harappa and Nalanda University near Patna. So local products and services have been marketed slowly or vibrantly throughout Indian subcontinent and both in western and eastern countries as well. Many did not give enough significant thought to the role of practices of trade originated in India, at least some of them, for centuries what is now called “Globalisation” such as Mathematics, Literary works, extraordinary art forms, construction works of temples of many religions, preservation of specific values of health as well as medicinal properties of plants such as spices, turmeric, etc. Even “Chess” was played for more than two thousand years ago and still second most powerful pieces is called minister, where as in West it is called queen. As the population exploded in last three hundred years, more so in last 80 years, the ineffective use of natural resources, cultural inhibitions, language barriers and lack of great leadership skills have led India into oblivion.
